.jpg) HOLLYWOOD: Comedian Eddie Griffin ("Undercover Brother") played host to a huge crowd of high school students at "Rally for Life" an annual event staged by the American Red Cross. The event, which took place at Lakewood High School in Long Beach, CA, also attracted many members of the local community.
Designed to increase blood donations, Rally for Life is part of the Save A Life Tour which involves two convoys of specially-equipped vehicles traveling across America collecting blood and heightening public awareness at a critical time in our nation’s history.
The
convoy will make a dramatic stop in Long Beach with the Red Cross Tour
Bus carrying donors and recipients, and the Mobile Museum - a giant
trailer featuring interactive presentations.
The
American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and
guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of
the International Red Cross Movement, provides relief to victims of
disasters and helps prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Last year, American Red Cross Blood Services, Southern California
Region provided about 600,000 blood products to 150 hospitals in Los
Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. The Hollywood-Madison Group, a Los Angeles-based company specializing
in celebrity endorsements and personal appearances was responsible for
