David Spade Plays Host At Silicon Valley Fund-Raiser
HOLLYWOOD: David Spade, star of NBC's "Just Shoot Me," was host at the second annual, "Silicon Planet", a special event and Aids fund-raiser sponsored by Applied Materials Inc. A leading manufacturer of semi-conductors, Applied Materials was joined by other sponsors, including: E*Trade; Microsoft; and Citibank. Net proceeds benefited ARIS (Aids Resources, Information & Services).

The event, which took place on Saturday, October 10, was the second major fund-raising initiative by Silicon Planet, Inc., a Santa Clara-based company developing an on-line community for today's techno culture. "Silicon Planet", the event, was a marriage of high tech and Hollywood - cutting-edge music, art, fashion and technology.

Among the many attractions at this year's show was a fashion exhibit by world-class designers; an off-beat art auction; and, high-tech multimedia produced by some of Silicon Valley's top special effects artists. Musical guests included Devo and Beck.

The Hollywood-Madison Group, a Los Angeles-based company specializing in celebrity endorsements and personal appearances was responsible for securing the host. PRx Inc., a leading public relations firm in San Jose, California conducted public relations.
